2006 Annual Report - Executive Summary

In its fourth year of activities the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America released 33 publications, including 2 books, 18 Documentos, 12 Research Reports and 1 magazine; it organized 27 events, 26 training activities; and registered 106 media mentions in the press, mainly in newspapers in Argentina, Spain, Chile, Uruguay and United States.

During 2006 the radio show "Apertura Latinoamericana" began with a weekly hour, that can be listened live in the Internet or a summary of it at CADAL's website. The radio show includes interviews to re-known Latin American analysts, many of which were published at our website.

And it is about CADAL's internet site, that the statistical report shows that during 2006 there were 63,308 visits to the homepage while there were 1,195,253 pages views. Moreover, during the year there were 908 new subscriptions and 169 newsletters were sent through e-mail accounting a sum of 371,800 mails sent. The statistical report also provides information about the most consulted contents, a very important tool to measure our results.

On the other hand, members from CADAL were invited to take part in events in Costa Rica, United States, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Chile and Mexico.

Finally, in 2006 CADAL had an income of 324,284.74 Argentine pesos (around 108,000 US dollars), mostly coming from donations from foundations, individuals, companies and the book sales.
